LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). King James, he's widely considered to be the most successful basketball player ever and is often compared Michael Jordan during debates about the greatest basketballer ever. James is the winner of four NBA Championships as well as Four NBA MVP Awards, four NBA Finals MVP Awards and three All-Star MVP Awards. He also has the distinction of having two Olympic Gold Medals. James has scored the most points during the playoffs, with the second-highest number of points in his career and is the seventh player with the most assists in his career. James has 18 NBA All-Stars, 18 All-NBA Teams and Five NBA All-Defensive First Team selections. He has competed in the ten NBA Finals the third most of all time, with eight games in succession between 2011 and 2018. James was chosen to join the NBA75th Anniversary Team. And in 2022, he became only the third NBA player ever to score at least 10,000 points in a career. James played basketball at St. Vincent St. Mary High School within his home town in Akron Ohio and was heavily touted by the national media as a potential NBA star. He was a prep-to pro and was selected as the highest selection by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Draft in 2003. In 2004, he was named NBA Rookie. He soon became one of league's top athletes, winning the NBA MVP title in both 2009 and the year 2010. James was a free agency following his failure to earn championships in Cleveland. The decision to leave Cleveland to join Miami Heat, announced on The Decision, a popular television show The Decision, is considered among the most controversial free agent decisions in the history of sports.
